Latest Award - May 2026
- Our member, Mick Green, won his first award recently for this plant Bulbophyllum grandiflorum!
- He benched this plant at the April 2026 Monthly Meeting and it was found to qualify for an award.
- Dave Hanlon, North Moreton Qld Registrar and orchid judge, presented Mick with his certificate at our May 2026 Monthly Meeting.

Pine Rivers Orchid Society member Lionel Kirby was presented with two Awards by North Moreton Registrar Dave Hanlon on 17 February, 2026.

Awards for Graham and Cheryl!
At Pine Rivers Orchid Society’s May 2025 Meeting, well known Brisbane northside orchid growers, Graham and Cheryl Round, were presented with their recent Awards by North Moreton orchid judge, Robert Reitano.
Their orchid, Dendrobium tangerinum 'Jacob', a species Dendrobium orchid native to Papua New Guinea, won an HCC/CCC – NMQOC, HCC/CCC – ANOS Kabi at the Aspley Orchid Society May 2025 Show. These letters mean the plant won a Highly Commended Certificate and a Certificate of Cultural Commendation.
The plant was awarded by both ANOS Kabi and North Moreton Qld Orchid Council.
The plant also won Champion of Show, Champion Specimen and Champion Species!
Update: This plant has also won the prestigious Hermon Slade trophy!
An announcement was made in the ANOS The Orchadian publication in March 2026.
